The Smithsonian, in collaboration with USA Today, created a free at-home summer learning guide for kids.
“Summer Road Trip” is a new 40-page activity guide that takes kids on a “road trip of discovery,”
Some of the featured activities include:
- Construct your own biplane inspired by Bessie Coleman and learn more about her achievements through a National Air and Space Museum story time.
- Reimagine an iconic portrait created by Amy Sherald and find additional coloring pages to showcase their creativity with National Portrait Gallery artworks.
- Curate their own mini-exhibits with objects from around their homes and tips from experts at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum.
